Interest Groups

This interest group plans and holds our community service events.  This group is for anyone looking to increase their community service participation and/or looking to get involved with civic causes.

This game is like traditional Rummy but played with tiles instead of cards. We play once a month for $5 (winner take all). For more info on how the game is played, just Google Rummikub. Hostesses are rotated, and light snacks are provided.

Bunco is a social dice game involving 100% luck and no skill. Every player brings an appetizer or dessert and $5. 

Winners and the biggest loser take home the money.  So just relax, sip wine and socialize the night away.

A friendly, casual group that meets to discuss books each month.  Our books are usually best-sellers or other books which we select at the beginning of the year.

We are a fun group of women who meet one evening a month to discuss our latest read. We take turns hosting.  Our discussions are often lively with varying points of views.

The Movie Night group  meets once a month.  As a group, we select movies that span many genres and are available through common streaming services.  After watching the movie of the month on your own time, we meet to share lively conversation, critique, and fun facts about the monthly movie selected.

Casual monthly meal at a local restaurant, guests are welcome!

Wine tastings are held at the home of a group member where we gather to sample new wines, socialize and meet new people.  All guests bring their own wine glasses and an appetizer or dessert to share.  We meet once per month for Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Mar, Apr, May and June.

Each year we have a dinner to gather as a whole club.  We elect new board members and celebrate the year. 

Meet monthly for an outing. Will vary, can be on weekday, or weekend, daytime or evening. A group to explore area activities. Monthly email with details will be sent with details.

Ski Club is a fun time, downhill skiing at Mt. Wachusett.  Beginning in January, we ski for half a day each week and then enjoy lunch together.  Members are e-mailed each week to arrange a day which is most convenient based on schedules and the weather.  We can provide information on ski passes.

Ladies Golf plays nine holes at a wide variety of golf courses, all within half an hour of Shrewsbury. Daytime and early evening tee times are arranged each week. This is a low key, noncompetitive group. We play to have fun! Feel free to join us if you have played at least a few times and have your own clubs. Lunch or a drink at the "19th Hole" often follows our

Recipe group meets once a month from Sept/Oct through June. A member volunteers to host in her home, plus 2 members will co-host for the night. Themes are chosen at the beginning of the year. Members make a dish relating to the theme and bring their recipe or email it to the member who oversees sending them to the group. It is a casual and fun group.

Mix and Mingle is a "pop-up" event.  It's open to the whole club and is not on any set schedule.  We tend to do them form January - May as an extra way for members to get out and spend time with each other. We choose a place and then meet up at 5pm for drinks, appetizers, and, for some, dinner.

This is a fun-loving group made of ladies who enjoy being creative. We may have an instructional class, or everyone brings a project they would like to work on. A very relaxed setting with the focus of enjoying each other's company.
